Danceathon at Tiny toes Swansea, Neath Port Talbot & Llanelli

Danceathon Fundraiser for Skewen Flood

Sunday 31st January at 2 pm. £2 to join. All proceeds will be donated. Suitable for all ages

We are dancing our worries away! I am sure that many of you will know about the devastating flood in Skewen, and share my heartbreak at the situation. What you may not know is that this is not a flash flood. An old mine has collapsed and caused devastation, as water cascaded through street and homes. There is also ongoing concern that the nearby mines may also be unstable, repeating the incident. This would be horrific at any time, but for this to happen during a global pandemic, when in lockdown (and everyone in their homes) is just heartbreaking. Lockdown makes donations of products, materials and resources so much harder. Lockdown means finding accommodation and providing emergency shelter is so much harder. Everything is harder.

We want to help, and we are asking you to join us! We have such a strong supportive community and I feel that radiate from our tiny toes grown-ups every day. I am grateful for your support every day. I would love to be able to offer some of that support to those in desperate need right now. And perhaps bring some joy at the same time.

We will be hosting an online Danceathon for anyone who would like to join. Everyone is welcome to attend, from birth to 100 years. Kitchen dancer or stage performer. We will dance non stop for 20 minutes to all of our favourite hits from the 80s right up to today's music.  We want you all to dance with us and help raise money. Our Danceathon will be on Sunday 31st January on Zoom and can be booked for £2 via our website. The total of that £2 will be donated to help those affected by the flood. We hope the Danceathon will be a chance for our community to come together, to bring joy to the little ones and raise money to help in this time of emergency. Please join us.

In addition to our Danceathon we would also like to raise £200. We know this is a hard time for everyone right now, but if we can meet or even exceed this and continue to raise and help, we will. I would be so grateful for any donation. Any small amount will make a collective big difference and one that will help those affected by the flood in all sorts of ways.

These are photos from our very first Danceathon at the LC in Swansea, two tears ago. We raised money for Great Ormond Street Hospital. It was brilliant and whilst this year's Danceathon may be a little different, let's make it equally as fantastic!

Thank you all! See you on Sunday 31st January 2021... get your dancing shoes ready!
